Gryphons Win Four Medals At Canadian Championships

University of Guelph track and field athletes won four medals at this past weekend's Canadian Track and Field Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick. Leading the way was Genevieve Lalonde of Moncton, NB, Lalonde won the bronze in the women's 3000 metre steeplechase racing in front of friends and family in her hometown. Adding to the Gryphons medal haul was Ross Proudfoot of Sudbury, Ont. who won bronze in the men's 1500 metres. The Gryphons also had two repeat medalists as Anthony Romaniw of Hamilton, Ont. won bronze in the men's 800 metres, after winning silver last year and Julia Wallace of Whitby, Ont. earned bronze in the women's triple jump and repeat of her 2013 performance. In addition to the four medalists the Gryphons also had Carise Thompson of Orkney, Ont. and Christopher Dulhanty of Mississauga, Ont. place fourth in the women's 1500 metres and men's steeplechase, by virtue of their performances Thompson and Dulhanty were named to Team Canada for the North American, Central American and Caribbean Under 23 Championships which will be held in Kamloops in August. - Source: Chris Moulton -
