It was a very strong opening day for University of Guelph track and field athletes at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia. In the men’s shot put the Gryphons’ Tim Hendry of Parry Sound, Ont. place 13TH overall, one spot out of advancing to the final, with a best mark of 17.81 metres.
