South Bend, IN - University of Guelph athletes had a spectacular showing at this weekend's Meyo Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame. Gryphons posted three podium finishes and six more top ten finishes, at one of North America's strongest indoor competitions. Leading the results for the Gryphons was Ross Proudfoot (Sudbury, ON) who placed second in the meet's headline event - the men's mile. Proudfoot's quest to become the first CIS athlete to break four minutes in the mile came up short as he crossed the line in 4 minutes 00.68 seconds, a mere seven one hundredths of a second behind race winner Sam Penzenstadler of Loyola. Proudfoot was one of three Gryphons to finish in the top 10 in the mile as teammates Kyle Grieve (Toronto, ON) and Aaron Hendrikx (Parkhill, ON) were ninth (4:04.14) and tenth (4:04.44) respectively.
